Don Haynie, of the former Buffalo Springs Herb Farm, is one of our favorite speakers here at Pharsalia.
Don's enthusiastic talks always celebrate the beauty and charm of herbs and other dried plant material. He will demonstrate the steps for building and arranging a wreath from dried herbs, flowers and other foliage. There will be some discussion on appropriate plant drying techniques for you to try at home.
Structure of dried flowers, texture of foliage and the lovely character of natural muted colors can come together in a harmonious creation. Don Haynie's tips and guidance can help even the novice come up with something wonderful.
Don will assist participants in the construction of your own wreath using a wire frame and plenty of goodies from our gardens. We will have, available for your use, a wide variety of purchased as well as previously dried materials gathered from Pharsalia. This is a wonderful class to share with a friend.
You will go home with some great new ideas and with a wreath to hang on your front door, in your kitchen or to use as a centerpiece. Please bring your favorite gardening gloves and clippers. If you need a pair of clippers, we will have our favorite ones for sale.
Cookies and our own fresh pressed cider will be available after you have made your wreath. Fee: $75.00
