Come enjoy a day at Pharsalia and learn from the lavender expert, Annie Baggett of North Carolina, about growing, landscaping, harvesting, cooking, crafting, eating and caring for your lavender. Annie will share the best varieties to grow in Virginia and the region as well as versatile uses while also answering any of your lavender garden questions.
This workshop is for crafters of all levels and will include the activity of creating your own lovely lavender kissing ball from fresh stems chosen from the garden. Just imagine later in the season being able to use your preserved craft in a pretty shade of purple adorned with a bit of mistletoe for the holiday season. Lavender is not just for a certain time of year but can be used and enjoyed everyday.
Fee for the workshop as well as all materials and a fresh-from-the-garden catered lunch is $85.00.
Lavender plants and products from Annie Baggett's farm will be available for sale. Foxie will be giving tours of the outbuildings and the gardens after everyone has finished purchasing any products. Bring a friend, a gardening pal or come solo and enjoy the day in the country.
Annie Greer Baggett of Sunshine Lavender Farm of North Carolina has been coming to Pharsalia every spring to share the joys and special calming aromas of lavender, a treasured and unique herb that we are fortunate to be able to grow in our climate. Annie and Dale's farm in North Carolina is open for Lavender Harvest Celebration during June bloom and in December for the Lavender Holiday Celebration. You will catch the duo at the Hillsborough Farmers Market Teaching folks how to successfully grow lavender in the garden at their March and October Lavender Planting Clinics too.
