Farm-to-Table Dinner in the Blue Ridge Mountains
June 20th was the date of Pharsalia's second Farm-to-Table Dinner. This event, like its predecessor, was a great success. In addition to raising money for the historic restoration of Pharsalia, we had a great time with friends, old and new. Enjoy some photos of the dinner courtesy of Jessica Maida Photography.
Cocktail hour was hosted on the front lawn, and in the Pharsalia house when it was raining. Wines from Pollack and Lovingston Vineyards were enjoyed with cheeses from Caromont Farm, and passed appetizers by Dean Maupin from C&O Restaurant.
A locally made wood fired, Volta Grill, was an interactive part of cocktail hour. David Eiserman, the winemaker from Chestnut Oak Vineyard (wines served with dinner) worked the grill. Grilled Appetizers included fresh garden Squashes with a garlic dipping sauce, as well as homemade bread (Claudia Gibson Catering) toasted with goat cheese (Caromont Farm) and Apple butter made here at Pharsalia.
Some Staff Favorites were Marinated Beets over a Horseradish Cream Sauce with Crispy Onions, Fried Green Tomatoes with Pimento Cheese and Pickled Onions, and River Oak Farm Fried Chicken.
All in all it was a Beautiful evening, and enjoyed by everyone. We cannot wait for our next dinner on Friday September 18th! You can sign-up today by clicking here.
