Gloriously Captivating Hydrangeas For Cutting with Murray Buckner

Hydrangeas are an important plant here at Pharsalia. These hardy flowering shrubs not only add interest and structure to the ornamental beds, they are also an important crop for Pharsalia’s cut-flower business. By using different hydrangea species, you can have successive blooms in your garden from May to September and beyond as the blooms gracefully age.

We are excited that Charlottesville’s Hydrangea expert Murray Buckner will be teaching this workshop. Murray specializes in hydrangea paniculata’s for cut flowers. He has extensive knowledge about their site location, planting, fertilizing, pruning, hybridizing and cutting.

As you walk the grounds of Pharsalia with Murray, he will teach you about the best way to cut, condition and preserve the blooms for drying or fresh use. Upon returning, you will find buckets of beautiful hydrangeas as well as other flowers and foliage for you to use. This is your time to create that spectacular arrangement to complement any room in your home. Come enjoy a fun-filled day in the country while meeting new people in a relaxing atmosphere.

Please bring a container of your choice for your arrangement, clippers, a clean bucket and a box to transport it home. Pharsalia’s favorite clippers will be for sale on this day as well as possibly some hydrangea plants.

A wonderful catered lunch will be included in the fee for $110.00.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No refunds will be given to registrants 7 days or fewer from the day of the workshop.
