Pharsalia offers Events, classes, farm to table dinners, corporate entertaining and tours of the 1814 plantation, gardens and outbuildings throughout the season. The historic home, the parlors, porches, canopies of shade trees, and various out-buildings on the property provide many options to customize your event. The vast grounds and gardens at Pharsalia inspire seasonal, fresh floral designs with professional and creative services available to capture your vision. Poolside, on the lawn, overlooking vineyards and orchards, or wherever your desires take you; our aim is to provide a unique space where you can craft your own special day.

***Rentals are for a 5 hour block of event time between 10 a.m. and 12 a.m. Set-up is included prior to the event, and one hour of time past the scheduled end time is allowed for break-down and clean-up.
(Additional time may be purchased at a rate of $250/half hour)
The Historic Pharsalia home is available for dressing and pre-ceremony traditions, as well as a post ceremony self guided tour for your guests. You will also have access to an indoor bar area, the gorgeous cocktail courtyard and our pristine flower and herb gardens where your guests can mingle and take in the majestic mountain views. We only host one wedding a weekend so the focus is on you!

Because we are a natural and locally oriented flower farm, the availability of our blooms varies seasonally. Below you will find a brief sampling of some of the blooms that are available from Pharsalia.

Early Spring (March-April)
Early spring flowers at Pharsalia have a woodland flower feel. Some specialty blooms include Daffodils, Tulips, Tree Peonies, Viburnums, Lilacs, and Hellebores. Colors are typically soft, and include purples, pinks, blues, and whites.
Spring at Pharsalia is a time of abundant Peonies! We have thousands available ranging in color from deep reds to coral to white. Soft woodland perennial blooms are still available, as well as bright pops of color. Some of our spring favorites are; Solomons Seal, Deutzia, Snapdragons, Mock Orange, Baptisia, and fragrant garden Roses.
Summer flowers are all about color with Zinnias, Celosia, Sunflowers, and Snapdragons blooming profusely. Hydrangeas are available in many varieties and colors, as well as Lilies.
Summer flowers continue blooming into the fall at Pharsalia. Fragrant white Tuberose and Dahlias in every color come into bloom. Garden Roses have their second flush. Seasonal harvest items such as ornamental apples and gourds make a show, and many dried flowers are available as the frost hits our flower fields.
Early Winter (October- January)
Seasonal greens and berries are abundant, as well as a good assortment of dried flowers from the summer season. Berries include Red and Orange Winterberry, Nandina Berries, various Hollies, and Bittersweet. Greens include many varieties of Pine, Boxwood, and Magnolia.
Late Winter (January- March)
The New Year brings new growth, and many budding and flowering branches that are great for floral arrangements. Quince, Daphne, and Flowering Apricots are good for forcing blooms. Assorted Pussy Willow, Spirea, and Hellebores are also available.

Pharsalia is rich in history with a picturesque setting like no other. This 1814 Plantation home is lovingly restored and preserved today by the direct descendants of the original owner, William Massie.
Pharsalia is a privately owned home listed on the National Historic Register. It is our desire to continue to preserve the past of our great-great-grandfathers home, and to share it by opening our doors to you.
