“Hi Foxie
It occured to me a couple of days ago that although I have told many of my friends what a wonderful experience it was to attend your Peony Workshop with Cathy, I had not told you!
We concluded on our ride home from lovely Pharsalia that the hours spent with you and your family and staff were truly magical. As intended by you, I learned so much about peonies and flower arranging. My favorite trick? The use of curly willow in a vase. Brilliant!
And so I thank you for an enchanting time away from "normal" and for a perfect morning (even the weather cooperated)
I look forward to seeing you at Nellysford.”

"Pharsalia is truly one of the most beautiful places in Virginia! We had such a gorgeous wedding ceremony and reception, all our guests are still talking about how beautiful it was. Foxie was very nice, easy to work with, and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone!"

"Pharsalia and all the staff were an absolute wedding dream come true! Thank you all for everything! Stunning venue!"
- Mimi
"If my husband and I had simply just booked Pharsalia for the big day without a single other vendor (caterer, tent, etc.) our wedding day would have still been brilliantly perfect. (The grounds look like a storybook garden.) From the drive to this special place, to the place where you say “I do,” Pharsalia is such a gem. Our guests so enjoyed exploring this place and our pictures were stunning. Thank you, Foxie, for sharing your intimately beautiful home with us."

"Pharsalia made my dream wedding come true! I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day in a more beautiful setting. Foxy and everyone who worked the event we’re so warm and welcoming. They make you feel at ease. I never thought twice if I had any questions because someone was always there to answer them."

"Foxie, the owner at Pharsalia is God's gift from Heaven! When I was looking at venues for my wedding, I had a hard time picking out the perfect spot, until I met Foxie & she told me about all what Pharsalia has to offer. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful & fun place to marry my best friend!"
- Katie
"We had to come to Pharsalia at the very last minute after somebody else fell through...but thank God they fell through because Pharsalia made so many beautiful arrangements, they were easy to work with, the results were truly wonderful, and they were willing and able to work within our budget and time constraints."

"Pharsalia is the most dreamy and beautiful venue! The old historic home is absolutely stunning and was such an magical place for a bride and her bridesmaids to get ready. The house and grounds provided a TON of places for amazing photos, and also perfect spots for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The grounds have ample space for all of these activities, including bathrooms that are handy to the event. I personally love all of the stunning gardens and landscaping on the property, not to mention the back drop of mountains and orchards. Working with Foxie was a breeze and so was coordinating all of the necessary rentals etc. Foxie has a helpful list of vendors who know the venue and that she has worked with before. We chose pretty much all of our vendors from her list and they were all wonderful! My friends and I also bought bulk flowers from Foxie and we assembled our own bouquets in her flower shed the day before my wedding which was super fun! (I only recommend making your own if you or your friends have flower experience--and one of my friends did!)
Overall, Pharsalia was a dream venue and I highly recommend it!!!"

"We are so happy we chose to have our wedding at Pharsalia. From start to finish, it was the perfect venue. It has absolutely gorgeous views of the blue ridge mountains, and the house itself has such character and charm. Foxie (the owner) was a joy to work with. She also did all of our flowers which was a huge advantage because they were stunning and was one less vendor we needed to coordinate with. I would highly recommend Pharsalia for anyone interested in having a picture-perfect dream wedding, and working with some of the sweetest people throughout the entire planning process."

"I got all the flowers for my daughter’s wedding from Pharsalia. It worked out great.
We have also enjoyed apple day on multiple occasions as well as a grafting workshop. I’m sure you wouldn’t find a more beautiful location for a wedding or more thoughtful staff. Highly recommended."

"I loved photographing out at Pharsalia! It's a truly gorgeous location- with so many unique and interesting spots to take photos! The staff was helpful and encouraging to the couple, and let us go out there for engagement photos and have free rein for the wedding day! This is a view you have to see for yourself to really know how gorgeous of a spot it is!!"

"Pharsalia is a place where your dreams become reality. I got married in September 2015 and could not have asked for a more beautiful location and venue. Not to mention the staff at Pharsalia are phenomenal. Each person I came in contact with was always willing to lend a helping hand and answer any questions I had. Every expectation I had for my big day was met to its fullest and I give full credit to Foxie and her wonderful staff. On top of the wonderful venue, I hired one of Pharsalia's employees Mary to be my wedding planner, she is AMAZING. If you are looking for your dream wedding venue, start with Pharsalia and I can assure you, you will look no further!!!"
- Katie Ruffin
"Pharsalia was the ideal venue for our wedding and exceeded our expectations in every way! The view is absolutely breathtaking and one of a kind. You are surrounding by mountains and overlooking a beautiful orchard. The grounds are gorgeous and allow you to keep decorations to a minimum. Foxy is a joy to work with, very flexible and helpful in terms of planning. Even though we were out of town, she kept us in the loop via email and phone. She has a wonderful selection of rental items and flowers as well. It was the perfect fit for our vintage/rustic theme. Our guests are still raving about the gorgeous location. I would highly recommend Pharsalia for your wedding!"
- Katherine Frasca
"Pharsalia is a gorgeous gem in the mountains. There is nothing that will compare with the view...a perfect backdrop for a stunning wedding. My guests were totally wowed by their surroundings! Pharsalia team, thank you for hosting the most gorgeous wedding I could have imagined! If I hadn't added a single flower arrangement or decoration it would have still been the most beautiful day imaginable. Having farm tables, benches, and wine barrels I could rent was the icing on the cake! You truly have a one of a kind venue with a lovely staff. Foxie, you are such a dear. All our love and thanks."

"Our wedding was May 2013, Pharsalia is a beautiful and magical place. Foxie was awesome to work with, she helped in any way she could, for our wedding it began to rain and she was cool and calm and started moving things around and was actually calmer than my wedding planner. I would recommend pharsalia to any bride that wants a country fairy tail wedding. Foxie you are truly a wonderful and beautiful person and what you did for Danny and I on our special day was a night that we will never forget. Thank you for that. God Bless!"

"We got married at Pharsalia in September 2012. Foxie was so helpful throughout the planning, and was amazing on the day of our event. Pharsalia is such a beautiful location; pictures do not do it justice. It was exactly what we were looking for, and worked perfectly for the type of wedding we wanted. Everyone who attended the wedding loved Pharsalia, and still talks about it. The views at Pharsalia are amazing in every direction, and provided the perfect setting for the start of our marriage!"
